Foundation Day 2018

The 82nd Foundation Day was held on 25thJuly, 2018 at the Oberoi Grand, Kolkata. A record total of 304 delegates attended the event.

The Program started with the Free Paper and Debate Sessions for the post graduate BOGS members. For the first time, the Industry Session had five lectures, one for each of the platinum sponsors delivered by eminent senior faculty of the society. At the inauguration ceremony, the immediate past president Prof Subhash Chandra Biswas was handed over the C S Dawn Appreciation Award. Senior members and past presidents enthusiastically joined for the lamp lighting session. The society took pride in felicitating senior members Dr. Jitesh Samaddar, Dr. Anjali Samadder and Dr. Bimal Kanti Goswami who were present at the session and Dr. Paresh Sen and Dr. Sisir Kanti Chattopadhyay in absentia.

Senior and junior members took pride in fellowship, connecting with each other and clicking pics at the ‘Down memory Lane’ Photo Zone created in the venue. The industry partners had ample opportunity to connect with doctors. Vendor partners and Venue Managers worked efficiently with organizers to present a commendable show for the event.

The post lunch program included the 23rdDr.Bamandas Mukherjee Memorial Oration which was delivered by Dr. Evita Fernandez from Hyderabad. At the Valedictory session prizes were handed over to the winners of the free paper and debate competitions held in the morning. Awards were handed over to the doctors with highest marks in DGO and MS degrees and for the first time the student with the highest marks in ObGyn at the final MBBS exam was included. The lottery session was as usual entertaining and added a lighter mood to the proceedings. The President and Secretary thanked all office bearers and MC members for working towards the success of the program.
