44th Annual Conference of BOGS (BOGSCON 44)
he 44th Annual Conference of BOGS, “BOGSCON 44” was held on Saturday and Sunday, December 21 and 23, 2018 at Hyatt Regency, Kolkata. The response ofthree full days of scientific programmes was overwhelming.
Registration:
Like previous years, we tried to involve all the society members. Five Hundred EightyTwo delegates attended this conference.
Workshops
Three workshopswas held on “Gynaecology Imaging”, “PPH”&“Suturing Skills”on Friday, December 21, 2018.
The hallmark of these workshops was active participation and interaction by the PG students with teachers.
The following topics were discussed in the Gynaecology Imaging Workshop:
Understanding the Machine, Endometrial Receptivity and Folliculometry, Interaction, Adnexal Masses, Myometrial Lesions, Uterine Anomalies, Interventional Radiology in Gynaecology.

President, Elect and DrBasab Mukherjee, Hony. Secretary and Organizing Secretary to come on the dais.
Inaugural Song was performed by DrSaktirupaChakraborty, DrMausumi De Banerjee, DrAshis Kumar Mukhopadhyay, DrKanchan Mukherjee, DrBipasaSen, Dr Queen Aditya, DrAvishekBhadra, DrSujoyDasgupta, DrNayanMoni Biswas and DrTullikaJha.
After that, Prof SudhirAdhikari, Organizing Chairperson delivered the welcome address.
Thereafter, Prof SudhirAdhikari, PravrajikaAlokaprana, Chief Guest, Dr Gita Ganguly Mukherjee, Guest of Honor, Prof Subhash Chandra Biswas, DrDibyendu Banerjee and DrBasab Mukherjee inaugurated the ceremony by lighting the lamp.
DrGita Ganguly Mukherjee, Guest of Honor was felicitated with a shawl by DrDibyendu Banerjee, President Elect, BOGS.
Souvenir of BOGSCON 44 was released by DrGita Ganguly Mukherjee, Guest of Honor.
The second issue of the BOGS Times, the mouthpiece of the society, of the year 2018-19 was released by DrSubhash Chandra Biswas, Chairperson, Reception Committee.
The name of four recipients of the BOGS Scholarship for needy and meritorious students were announced and their first chequewas handed over to MsPurnimaGaraifrom Murshidabad Medical College & Hospital, MrSayakTahfrom Medical College & Hospital, Kolkata, MrSoujanyaChakrabortyfrom BankuraSammilani Medical College and MrNuruddinMondal, from Medical College & Hospital, Kolkata. This session was conducted by DrBiswajyotiGuha, Hony Clinical Secretary &DrAmit Basu, HonyJt Clinical Secretary, BOGS and the cheque was presented to the candidates by Prof SudhirAdhikari, President, BOGS and DrBasab Mukherjee, Hony Secretary, BOGS.
PravrajikaAlokaprana, Chief Guest was felicitated with a shawl by Prof SudhirAdhikari, Organizing Chairperson, BOGSCON 44.
DrBasab Mukherjee, Organizing Secretary offered the Vote of Thanks.
The programme ended with the National anthem.
The whole inauguration programme was well anchored by DrSeetha Ramamurthy Pal, DrDipanwita Banerjee.
Academic:
The Scientific Committee left no stone unturned to make the scientific programme a mix of science and academia related to clinical practice. The discussion during the various sessions highlighted key research in basic science, new treatments and treatment related complications.

This year we had received Twenty Seven paper presentations as free communication from the postgraduate trainees of different medical college and institutes. Each competitive paper session was judged by senior members and teachers of our society.

The banquet dinner on December 22, 2018 was held at "Ozora" The White Castle Hospitality LLP, 20th floor, Acropolis Mall,Kolkata. A DJ was performed in the evening. One hundred Five delegates attended the gala party.
Valedictory
The prizes for the free paper competition was announced by DrBiswajyotiGuha during the valedictory session. This was followed by a lucky draw conducted by DrMahua Bhattacharya and DrTulikaJha. There were many exciting gifts.
