World Contraception Day Program

On September 26, 2018, the society celebrated the World Contraception Day 2018 at Hyatt Regency. After a short introduction by the President, Dr Sanghamitra Ghosh,Secretary General, Indian Public Health Association delivered a lecture on Collaboration with the Public and Private Sectors in Family Planning Services. Dr Shikha Shrivastava,Senior Advisor Technical Services, PSI delivered a lecture on Quality Assurance in Family Planning Services in the Private Sector and Dr Indrani Bhattacharya, Assistant Director (Adolescent Health) CINI delivered a lecture on Addressing Gender Disparity and Increasing Male Participation in Family Planning. 

 After lunch, a CME was held after which consisted of an industry session by Pfizer, DKT India and IPAS who contributed to the funding for the program and two panel discussions of different aspects of Public Health Challenges in Adopting Contraceptives in the Community and Promoting Post-Abortion and Post-Partum Family Planning.Representatives from FPAI, IPAS, PSS, PSI, ASHA and CINI participated in the scientific program. 

The final attendance was around 90.
 
 It was a nice program to showcase BOGS to many Public Health Partners. We look  forward to developing strategic alliances with many of them in the future.
