CME on Beyond the Sunshine – Decoding Vitamin D in Women’s Health

The Bengal Obstetric and Gynaecological Society (BOGS) organized a CME on “Beyond the Sunshine: Decoding Vitamin D in Women’s Health” on 24th June 2026 at Peerless Inn, Kolkata, with academic support from Sanofi CHC.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr Shyamal Sett, President Elect, BOGS.

The scientific session, chaired by Dr Abinash Chandra Roy and Dr Rabindranath Roy, featured a lecture by Dr Shyamal Sett on “Vitamin D Deficiency and Its Role in PMOS.” The talk highlighted the current evidence regarding Vitamin D deficiency and its implications in women with PMOS.

This was followed by a panel discussion on “Vitamin D in Women’s Health: Evidence, Myths and Clinical Practice,” moderated by Dr Avishek Bhadra and Dr Bibek Mohan Rakshit. The panelists Dr Ankur Biswas, Dr Anirban Bhattacharyya, Dr Rajat Bhattacharyya, Dr Sharmistha Ganguly, and Dr Sohini Chaudhury, discussed the role of Vitamin D across various stages of women’s health and addressed practical clinical issues and prevailing misconceptions.

The programme witnessed active participation from 25 delegates and concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr Avishek Bhadra, Joint Clinical Secretary, BOGS.

The CME provided a valuable platform for updating knowledge and promoting evidence-based clinical practice in women’s health.
