FORCE 2018 KOLKATA
FORCE (FOGSI Review Course for Examinations)is a Comprehensive PG teachingprogramme running since 2010, organized by Medical Education Committee of FOGSI and BOGS.
1stday : Obstetrics, 2nd day: Gynaecology, Preceded by a half day workshop on EFM .
No registration charges for students. Entire logistic support from M/S Sun Pharma
Total registration= 248 including Spot Registration= 33. Approx. Twenty (20) students had to be regretted from participation over telephone.
Mostly 3rd year and 2nd year students from all Medical colleges in West Bengal & beyond.
Total no. of Faculty:76 (74 local, from all Medical Colleges and Teaching Hospitals of West Bengal) + 2 National Faculty : Prof. Hemant Deshpande, Prof & HOD, G & O, D Y Patil MC Pune, & Prof. Nitin Kshirsagar, Karad, Maharashtra. 8 Faculty did not turn up-- Dr. Sebanti Goswami, Dr Jayita Chakravarty, Dr P S Chakravarty, Dr PrabirSengupta (BWN), Dr Abhishek Bhadra, Dr Subrata Lall Seal, Dr ArghyaMoitra, Dr Prabodh Soreng. Exemplary attendance from BOGS MCM—only 2 members could not make it.
Notable faculty attendance: Dr Sudipto Bose from Kishangunje, Ex-DME Dr Debashis Bhattacharyya and Cross Faculty: Dr JayatiBardhan, Professor of Radiology
Remarkable student attendance: From remote and far off places like Trichy, Kishangunje, North Bengal Medical College and Silliguri, Purulia, Bankura , Bardhaman, Kalyani and Midnapore
Scientific Content:Predominantly case discussions and stations; Only 5lectures, 17 long cases, 9 Viva Voce stations, 2 Special Demos, 2 Case scenarios& 10 Pedagogy lectures by students , each of 5 mins duration, with 6 prizes. Except in the lectures, students participated in real life scenarios of Case discussions and Viva Voce, where rest of the students in the hall participated and interacted very actively. A lively auditorium with lots of comments, questions and answers.
Acknowledgement:FOGSI, President&The MC members and office staff of BOGS who participated very actively in the programme, all Faculty members, the entire team of FORCE CSS comprising of HOD and senior teachers, two Asst Professors, all the RMOs, SR and all PGs, and of course, M/S Sun Pharma Limited (Spectra & Senora divisions). We cannot thank the students enough because without them this programme is non-existent.
