The Bengal Obstetric &  Gynaecological Society Observes  World Cancer Day

The Oncology subcommittee, BOGS organised a day long CME and the 58th Subodh Mitra Memorial Oration to commemorate World Cancer Day on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at The Park, Kolkata.

The scientific programme comprised of talks and video sessions and the rich content covered almost all aspects of gynaecological oncology including Carcinoma of Cervix, Endometrium, Ovary and Colposcopy masterclass. The faculty involved gynae oncologists from various institutes of Kolkata.

 The orator for the 58th Dr Subodh Mitra Memorial Oration was Dr S V S Deo, Oncology Lead and Senior Consultant Surgical Oncology, Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi and the former Head of Surgical Oncology, AIIMS, New Delhi. The topic of his oration was “Changing Landscapes and Recent Advances in Breast Cancer". The oration was very well appreciated by one and all.

The whole programme was very well attended by 118 members.
