Public health awareness and health check up programme at Baruipur

A public health awareness and health check-up programme was organised by BOGS and RCSLM, Kolkata, on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Nishtha Foundation, Tongtala, Baruipur. This was in association with CINI.

 

There were health awareness talks on Menstrual hygiene, abnormalities, PCOS, Anaemia, Thalassemias, Cervical cancer, and HPV vaccination. A vaccination camp will also be held here at a later date.

Haemoglobin testing (non-invasive) was done on 166 school girls, and BMD testing was done on women by Emcure and Torrent, respectively, as part of their CSR activities. Iron capsules and calcium supplements were given to the girls and women, where indicated. Sanitary napkins were also distributed among the girls.

BOGS members present were Dr M M Samsuzzoha, Dr Tulika Jha, Dr Saktirupa Chakraborty (RCCSLM, Kolkata), Dr Shabana Roze Chowdhury, Dr Susmita Mitra and Dr Sharmishtha Ganguly.
