Thalassemia Awareness Programme

BOGS and RC CALCUTTA South West organized an awareness programme  on Cervical cancer vaccine and Thalassemia for the students and their parents guardians at the Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy, Taratala on 4th November, 2025.

 

Rtn Ruma Mitra , Rtn Samir Sur ( RCCSW), Dr M M Samsuzzoha, President, BOGS and Dr Susmita Mitra from BOGS were there.

Due to terrible road conditions (pipeline repair works) most of the CP children could not reach school in their special buses and wheelchairs, so about thirty parents  mainly attended the program today.

 

Dr M M Samsuzzoha spoke on Thalassemia and Dr Sebanti Goswami on the vaccination part .

 

Since this road conditions will not improve soon, we asked for a online awareness programme for these special children, who are having online classes now .

 

Consent forms were given today, and some were left with the social worker in charge. They will liason with us later about the vaccination dates and online awareness programme details.
