Public Awareness Program on the occasion of "Menstrual Hygiene Day"

To mark the occasion of Menstrual Hygiene Day, a public awareness programme was held on May 28, 2025, at Durbar Society, Sheoraphuli, with a focus on educating women about menstrual and overall health.

The session was conducted by Dr. Shabana Roze Chowdhury, Dr. Bidisha Roychoudhury, and Dr. Poushali Sanyal, who addressed a range of important health topics relevant to women in the community. These included menstrual health and hygiene, common issues such as white discharge and urinary tract infections (UTIs), as well as breast and cervical cancer awareness with emphasis on prevention, early detection, and available vaccinations. The programme also discussed general health and nutrition, along with the harmful effects of substance abuse involving alcohol, drugs, and tobacco.

To reinforce the health messages shared, the team distributed sanitary napkins, iron and calcium tablets, and informative leaflets in the local language. The event engaged 70 participants, contributing meaningfully to ongoing efforts in community-based women’s health education and support.
