Public Awareness Programme on Triple Screening

 

A public awareness programme focusing on triple screening during pregnancy was held on May 27, 2025, at Swasthya Bhawan, Kolkata. The event aimed to highlight the importance of early screening for maternal and neonatal health.

 

Led by Dr. Mahua Bhattacharya and Dr. Runa Bal, the session addressed key topics such as the protocol of triple screening, strategies for managing RPR (Rapid Plasma Reagin) and HBsAg (Hepatitis B surface antigen) positive mothers, and the urgent need to implement triple screening at the earliest stages of pregnancy.

 

The programme emphasized the role of timely detection in preventing congenital infections and improving maternal outcomes. Through expert guidance and clinical insights, the session contributed to enhancing awareness and preparedness among healthcare professionals and stakeholders involved in maternal care.
