Public Awareness Program – PCOS Awareness Month Celebration

As part of the PCOS Awareness Month celebrations, a public awareness program was held on May 14, 2025, at Netaji Nagar College for Women. The event, organized in partnership with Albert David Pharmaceuticals, aimed to educate young women about Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)—a common yet often misunderstood health condition.

 

The session was led by a panel of esteemed medical professionals, including Dr. Basab Mukherjee, Dr. Shabana Raze Chaudhury, and Dr. Ankur Biswas. The discussion focused primarily on PCOS, addressing frequently asked questions and providing clear, evidence-based information to dispel myths and promote better self-care. Menstrual hygiene was also discussed in detail, emphasizing its role in overall reproductive health.

The programme drew the participation of 101 students and their teachers, with an actual attendance of 45, and served as an important initiative in raising awareness and empowering young women to take control of their health.
