A one-day state-level seminar on the health and hygiene of women was organized on April 7, 2025, at Dinabandhu Andrews College, Garia.
The event was conducted as part of a public awareness initiative and was a collaborative effort between the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit and the Kanyashree Unit of Dinabandhu Andrews College, along with the Maa Foundation and Afflatus Foundation.
The seminar featured esteemed speakers Dr. Saktirupa Chakraborty, Dr. Ruchi Pipara, and Dr. Ononna Das, who led a series of informative and engaging talks. The discussions covered a range of vital topics including menstrual hygiene, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and other common female health issues, cervical cancer awareness, as well as premarital counselling and contraception.
These sessions aimed to educate and empower young women with essential knowledge about their health and well-being. Sixty participants, comprising mostly students and faculty members, attended the program, making it an impactful and meaningful initiative in raising awareness about women's health.
