BOGS & FOGSI SAMPOORNA CME
The FOGSI Sampoorna CME was held on June 28, 2025, at J.W. Marriott, Kolkata, with Torrent as the academic partner.
The event featured a rich lineup of scientific sessions addressing crucial themes in reproductive and maternal health. Dr. Seetha Ramamurthy Pal opened the session with her talk titled “Homocysteine and Her: Tracing the Effects of HHCY from Fertility (Preconception) to Feeding (Lactation)”, examining the often-overlooked impact of homocysteine levels on women’s health across reproductive stages. Dr. Suman Sinha followed with “Feeding Baby, Draining Bones: The Unspoken Cost of Lactation”, bringing attention to the physiological toll of breastfeeding on maternal bone health. Dr. Siddhartha Chatterjee presented “Dydrogesterone SR – A New Standard in Reproduction Medicine”, offering a comprehensive review of its role from assisted reproductive technology (ART) to luteal phase support (LPS) and recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL). The final session, “Flora, Fertility and Full Term: The Role of Vaginal Microbiome in Obstetric Outcomes”, was delivered by Dr. Sukumar Barik, highlighting emerging evidence on microbiota and its influence on pregnancy success.
The sessions were chaired by esteemed faculty including Dr. Abinash Chandra Ray, Dr. Hiralal Konar, Dr. Jayita Chakrabarti, and Dr. Susmita Chattopadhyay. With an impressive attendance of 91 participants, the CME provided a vibrant platform for learning and professional dialogue.
