The 32nd Dr Jajneswar Chakraborty Memorial Oration

The 32nd Dr Jajneswar Chakraborty Memorial Oration was held on 31st May, 2025 at the Stadel, Salt Lake, Kolkata. The orator was Dr. G. Justin Paul, Professor of Cardiology, Madras Medical College and Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, Chennai and the topic was “Pregnancy Outcomes in Women with Heart Disease: How to Improve in India”

About 65 people attended the oration.

 

Academic Program

     The second Confluence Cross Specialty Scientific Series with Endocrinology & Anaesthesiology was held on 31st May, 2025 at the Stadel, Salt Lake, Kolkata. It was organised by the Medical Disorders in Pregnancy Subcommittee of BOGS.

The first part was the Endocrinology section. There were talks on “Myths Around Thyroid Medication and Testing” by Dr Kalyan Gangopadhyay, “PCO and Metabolic Syndrome” by Dr Sarmistha Mukhopadhyay, “Tackling Raised Prolactin Levels” by Dr Sujoy Ghosh and “Diabetes Control in Pregnancy” by Dr Debmalya Sanyal. The chairpersons were Dr Arup Kumar Majhi, Dr Gita Ganguly Mukherjee, Dr Abinash Chandra Ray and Dr Chandrima Jot Roy. It was followed by an “Ask the Expert” session, which was moderated by Dr Biswajyoti Guha and Dr Mahua Bhattacharyya.

The second part was the Anaesthesiology session which had talks on “Cardiac Challenges in Obstetrics” by Dr Shilpa Kanakam, “Massive Blood Product Transfusion” by Dr Sourabh Roy, “Maternal Cardiac Arrest” by Dr Palash Kumar and “Pregnancy Related AKI” by Dr Debasish Ghosh. The chairpersons were Dr Abhijit Ghosh, Dr Seetha Ramamurthy Pal, Dr Pushan Kundu and Dr Sukanta Misra. It was followed by an “Ask the Expert” session moderated by Dr Tulika Jha. Sixty five members attended the confluence CME.
